Share our experiences

The association has been feeding wild birds at the hatchery unit for over two years now. A total of 25 different species of wild birds have been seen, photographed or filmed within the hatchery grounds. It is our intention to show you some of these fascinating species and as footage is captured we will post it to this page.
We are privileged in seeing so many wild creatures while we carry out our management duties and we realise there are many who will never get to witness what we see, we hope to share with you the sights we encounter and hope that you enjoy them as we do.
Many of our visitors(birds) are becoming old friends and each has its own unique characteristics which we hope to demonstrate. We have chosen two of our favourites to set the ball rolling . they are a pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers affectionately known as Mr and Mrs Woody. They have been turning up regularly for over 18 months now but the footage you will see was captured on Monday 25Th Feb 2008 this was the first time we have seen them together. Filming conditions were atrocious with strong winds and driving rain but we got them.
